Looking for a talented Software Engineer be part of the Material & Vehicle Logistics + Customs – Inbound Logistics IT team. This individual will identify and implement IT solutions that would map, digitize and automate business processes to bring enhanced transparency and visibility to Ford’s ambitious Inbound Logistics Command Center to highlight opportunities and improve the overall cost for moving material.  This will be a solution supporting operations - meaning the solution will need to be available/robust, scaleable, and monitored to detect and mitigate issues to minimize any production disruption.  It will be a challenge - are you up for it? - please read the qualifications and responsibilities.

Be part of a growing team in a new Supply Chain Management department.

Renewed focus on material movement cost from planning to procurement, from suppliers to plants.
 

What you'll do...
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with multiple organizations (Business, Product Managers, Product Owners, Data Tech, IT) to ingest event driven data exchanges with 3PL vendor(s), Yard Management Systems in an effort to own Ford's data and inject this data in a Command Center to monitor and identify risks and opportunities in the first-tier supply chain. Participate in and/or lead development of requirements, features, use cases, and test scenarios, in alignment with different stakeholders. Author process and design specifications for cross-team alignment.
Implementation and Delivery: Working closely with vendors and partners, design and create actionable software development and enterprise integration activities to move from solution design to implementation. Work with the Business Customers, Product Managers, Product Designers, Enterprise Architects, Software Engineers and Security Controls Champions on solution design, development, integration, testing and deployment. Generate Metrics, Build Deployment Pipelines and Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Participate and/or lead incident, change and service request related activities including root cause analysis (RCA) and proactive problem management / defect prevention activities.
Communication: Clearly communicate vision and strategy to cross functional teams, senior leaders, and stakeholders to gain alignment. Grow subject matter expertise, provide guidance to other team members. 
Agile: Participate in ceremonies that help define the work to be done, improve team process, and align the team to specific objectives. For instance, participate in Daily Standups, Story Creation and Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives, and Epics/Sub-Epics/Story Acceptance sessions. Ensure effective usage of Rally/Jira and derive meaningful insights from Rally/Jira like Velocity, Throughput etc. to enable the team to go further. Partner with Business Owners / Managers and develop and as required execute test scenarios at various levels (functional, user acceptance) within Agile Framework. Pivot when necessary and aligned.

You'll have... 
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent 
Master level experience in cloud based development and operations (GCP/Azure/AWS/PCF); preference for GCP.
Full stack development using Python or Java and web application development frameworks such as but not limited to JavaScript, REACT, Angular, Karma, Node.js, etc.
Can build data transformations using GCP services like Data Fusion, Data Flow; and leverage system integrations using Kafka, Pub/Sub, sFTP, MQ
Ability to synthesize and visualize complex, and occasionally ambiguous concepts and translate them into a list of use-cases or an action plan for the team or organization. Ability to lead through influence.
Application development in manufacturing\logistics environment – real-time data transfer, transformation, storage, and reporting capabilities.
Experience working with Agile project management software such Jira or Rally
Strong global business acumen in Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cross-fu
