Accounts Receivable Accountant

Responsibilities:Generate and distribute monthly rent invoices and statements to tenants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Process tenant payments, including rent, CAM charges, and other fees, and apply payments to the appropriate accounts.Conduct monthly CAM reconciliations, reviewing expenses, calculating adjustments, and preparing reconciled statements for tenants.Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to tenant payments and CAM charges in a timely manner.Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with tenants on past due balances, initiating collections efforts as needed.Maintain accurate records of tenant accounts, payments, and communications in the accounting system.Collaborate with property managers, leasing agents, and other stakeholders to address tenant inquiries and resolve issues related to billing and payments.Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.Generate financial reports and analysis related to accounts receivable and CAM reconciliations for management review.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable accounting, preferably in the real estate industry.Strong understanding of CAM reconciliations and common area maintenance charges.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to perform complex calculations and analysis.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with tenants and internal stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of Yardi or other property management software preferred.
