Facilities Maintenance Technician

This position performs technical functions related to maintaining the physical condition, appearance and operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, facility equipment, lighting, climate control systems, and electronic systems in a safe and efficient manner within the facilities as directed by the Manager, Facilities and Engineering.

 

What you’ll be doing:

·         Develops, trains, maintains, and administers a department of qualified personnel required to maintain all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition.

·         Provides direction to maintenance staff on proper repairs / maintenance and inspects work to ensure quality and thoroughness of work performed. Reviews and corrects any deficiencies with maintenance team.

·         Negotiates, tracks and actively manages utility contracts for global facilities and ensure that the most cost-effective solution is implemented. 

·         Assist director in defining objectives in each area of building maintenance operations with specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.

·         Negotiation, tracking, cost control and deployment of preventative maintenance and repair projects globally.

·         Ensure that all facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.

·         Coordination and setup of event furniture utilizing facilities tech team.

·         Responsible for contracting, tracking and service completion of waste management and janitorial services globally.

·         Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

·         Supervises and coordinates all contractors and suppliers to ensure that the facility and grounds are clean, well maintained, safe and secure.

·         Assist with business continuity planning and contracting.

·         Primary approval and reporting of invoices relating to repairs and maintenance, utilities, waste management and janitorial.

·         Monitor office environment for PPT standards and communicate gaps to appropriate real estate and workplace services team member.

·         Maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders and contributes to feedback and performance improvement process.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

What we’re looking for:

·         Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and custodial hand and electric powered tools.

·         Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to receive and respond to work assignments in both formats.

·         Experience in similar facility setting is preferred but not required.

·         Strong command of the English language both spoken and written.

·         Read, comprehend, and work from plans and operating instructions.

·         Follow oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.

·         Detail orientation with a mindset towards meeting PPTs high standards for maintenance of facilities.

·         Demonstrated time management skills and including multi-tasking.

·         Experience with Building Automation Systems and Lighting Controls Systems.
