Job Description

YOUR TASKS

In this role you will be responsible for the capital projects within the Sumter Plant. You will support the project development from the conceptual phase until the release to client according to Continental Project Policies. Ensure that investment projects are performed according to the technical, time and financial requirements.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manage small, medium, and large projects from requirement specifications & design to implementation and validation phases;
  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary external technical teams on various projects to ensure that activities are completed on schedule and on budget on first of a kind and aggressively scheduled projects;
  • Create detailed project plans and schedules using MS Project or Excel to drive successful project outcome, while driving accountability;
  • Prepare and maintain project support documentation, including project scopes, presentation of conceptual designs, capital requests, purchase orders, project plans and schedules, user/functional specifications, design specifications, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams, start-up and equipment operational procedures and commissioning;
  • Coordinate all stages of machine acceptance and release according to internal and corporate policies;
  • Control project cost by ensuring robust contractor agreements is in place, prior to commencing any work, and by closely monitoring and approving capital expenditures;
  • Prepare and review contractor bids, interviews, and vendor selection;
  • Ensure appropriate communication to all project stakeholders through meetings, project reports, and other forms of communication;
  • Assist in the design review, factory acceptance, site acceptance, installation of equipment, as well as equipment qualification;
  • Coordinate and review designs to ensure that quality control requirements are met in accordance with the company’s procedures, and good engineering practices;
  • Manage and maintain the capital request process for the Sumter Plant according to internal and corporate policies;
  • Be the single point of contact for eCR (electronic capital request): review eCR forms and documentations, coordinate feasibility with Controlling Department, entering documents in the eCR system for approvals, track, and review eCR status;
  • Manage and maintain spending for all capital requests for the Sumter Plant to ensure forecast accuracy with the Controlling Department and drive accountability to each capital requester or project owner;
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Project Engineering Manager or Department Manager;
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and plant policies while supporting additional duties assigned by supervisors or management.

NOTE: May not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of experience with project management in manufacturing background
  • Experience with equipment installation and commissioning
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Continental is able to offer visa support and relocation for internal candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or advanced project management certification
