Clinical Research Associate- Per-Diem, Varies, Hybrid, Morristown Medical Center

Responsible for coordinating and implementing research activities and administrative strategies essential for successful management of research projects.


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Screens potential patients which includes obtaining HIPAA authorization, consent for the study, reviewing medical records to determine eligibility, communication with the investigator and additional tests of the patient. 
2. Prepares patient information for registration/randomization and notifies the investigator and patient of assigned treatment. 
3. Orders and/or transports study drug, documentation of receipt and dispensing of the study drug on the Drug Accountability Record Forms (DARFs) and responsible for calculating drug dosages as per protocol requirements. 
4. Monitors the patient throughout the active treatment phase of the study and collaborates with the investigator and clinic staff in scheduling future appointments in case of any circumstance such as explaining patient diaries, reporting of adverse events, recognizing serious adverse events, and the need for dose modification. 
5. Ensures protocol adherence by understanding, communicating and making sure the study parameters are ordered and carried out per protocol requirements. 
6. Monitors the patient's response to treatment. 
7. Informs and educates the investigator and/or clinic staff regarding study drug administration requirements. 
8. Obtains all required source documentation, preparing the research chart for internal audits, assist the clinical research team in preparation for external audits, responsible for evaluation and reporting serious adverse events and expedited reporting of such events, if required. 
9. Coordinates development, implementation and maintenance of assigned clinical research studies and projects.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required:
1. Associates Degree 

Preferred:
1. Experience in coordinating different types of clinical trials.
2. 2 years of experience in Clinical Research Coordination.
