Sr. Material Handler

Organize and monitor the receiving, put-away, and replenishments of finished product within the warehouse using the warehouse management system (WMS). Provide daily direction and communication to Material Handlers. Operate material handling equipment (MHE) to move and store product. Communicate via phone and e-mail with both internal and external contacts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

• Monitor Warehouse Management System to provide work assignments to material handlers, adjusting as needed
• Give direction to new Material Handlers, providing guidance where needed
• Assist MH with system issues such as Inventory Discrepancies, Location/Product inquiries and communicating these issues to Warehouse Supervisor as needed
• Assist Shipping and other departments with inventory and other material needs
• Work closely with Inventory Control, assuring inventory movement is done in an accurate manner
• Ensure the exact quantity and product is correct with any inventory movement to guarantee tight inventory control
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
• Conduct activities in a manner that promotes safety
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area
• Assist in other Operations areas as needed
• Assist in physical inventories cycle counts
• Back-up supervisor as needed

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High school graduate or equivalent required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Basic PC skills
• 1-3 years warehouse and/or shipping experience
• Ability to read, count accurately, do simple math and write legibly
• Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work under pressure
• Familiarity with MHE is required
• Good communication skills

• Light manufacturing/warehouse environment—constant walking and standing; frequent bending, stooping and reaching
• Physical stamina to maintain adequate productivity rates
• Ability to operate a pallet jack and forklift equipment
• Ability to operate Company delivery vehicle for local deliveries, pickups and errands
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
