Job Description

The salary range for this role is $95,000-$110,000. Relocation is available if required.

This position has a flexible hybrid schedule that varies based on department needs.

The IU Foundation, in partnership with the Office of The Provost, is seeking a Senior Director of Development, Scholarships and Student Experience with a belief in “IU for All” to support these student-centered efforts. 

Reporting to the AVP, Development and with a dotted line to The Senior Executive Advisor to the Provost, this role will concentrate on leading a team to secure philanthropic support for of the Office of Enrollment Management, Office of Student Life, Office of Undergraduate Education, Hutton Honors College, and the Wells Scholars Program. The goal of the position is to lead philanthropic efforts in support of Indiana University’s Bloomington campus by raising philanthropic support for scholarships and initiatives that maximize student recruitment and retention and elevate the educational experience. This position also manages a small team of fundraisers consisting of a Director of Development and an Associate Director of Development. 

The Sr. Director of Development plays an integral role in furthering Indiana University’s aim to help promising students from all backgrounds access an IU education as well as have a meaningful experience that supports and enhances success, lifelong learning, and personal growth.  

Funds raised by this position will make it possible for students to attend IU Bloomington, be financially supported, and realize the ultimate goal of graduating with an IU degree.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: 

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is highly preferred 
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in fundraising or relevant experience in complex organization including proven success in major gift development work 
  • Previous supervisorial experience strongly preferred 
  • Specific fundraising experience in areas of Student Affairs, Scholarships, Undergraduate Education, or Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion are a plus 
  • Experience working in a high-volume, matrixed work environment preferred  
  • Combinations of related education and experience will be considered
