Bio-Medical Technician - Full Time - Days

Job Summary

Performs service and maintenance on clinical, life support and life monitoring electronic, electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, optical, and electro-optical equipment utilized by medical and paramedical professionals. 

Core Job Responsibilities

• Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect patient care, patient handling, and other medical equipment.
• Monitor completion of PM and repair activities performed by outside vendors.
• Evaluate PM and repair actions for areas of process improvement and make recommendations.
• Evaluate new equipment and testing procedures.
• Maintain timely and accurate records and documentation in TMA work order system for adding and retiring equipment, inspections, repairs, outside vendor activities, safety issues, and missing equipment.
• Updates tech support database with appropriate documentation for new equipment.
• Provide in-service education to staff on safe and proper use of equipment.
• Follow up on ECRI and/or equipment safety reports as required.
• Attend and actively participate in monthly CE staff meetings
• Serve as CE liaison to other departments as required.
• Comply with DNV and other applicable standards and regulations.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years experience in related field

Preferred: 

• AAS degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or Engineering Technology or other formal training of business experience will be considered
