Job Description Summary

The Associate Director/ Sr. Associate Director, Major Gifts identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual and institutional prospects for the School of Nursing. The Associate Director/ Sr. Associate Director plans, coordinates, and implements development efforts and works closely with many faculty and staff across the school. The Associate Director/ Sr. Associate Director plays an integral role in a wide spectrum of fundraising responsibilities, including communication efforts, events, and volunteer/board management.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the educational, research, innovation, and financial needs and goals of Penn Nursing. Speak passionately and authentically about the history, achievements, and strategic direction of the School, and have the ability to articulate that vision effectively to a diverse audience.
• Successfully grow and manage a major gift portfolio of 100+ donor prospects to meet philanthropic goals. Focus on donor activity management, working collaboratively with faculty and development colleagues to engage donors toward major and leadership gifts.
• Interact effectively with a broad range of constituents and provide strong support for all involved in the giving process, inspiring others to take action and ensuring a rewarding gift experience.
• Serve as the lead liaison for Gift Planning and Corporate, Foundation Relations for the School of Nursing. 
• Emphasize cultivation and solicitation strategies that focus on donor-centered philanthropy to maximize potential gifts. Coordinate the participation of faculty, administration, trustees/volunteers, and other members of the development staff in achieving unit goals.
