Overview

This is a full-time career opportunity that can be remote within the Fulton Bank footprint as follows: DC, DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role are to develop, implement, and support data analytics within Corporate Accounting Partners, and to participate in the creation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting. This role will analyze, model, and synthesize data from various sources into meaningful information the business can use for better decisions and to maximize output or outcomes. This role will also support the greater Financial Systems & Innovations team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced research and data analysis by gathering, evaluating, and synthesizing complex information; deliver clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and implement business process improvements that enable automation, increase productivity, streamline processes, promote efficiencies and reduce technical complexity.
  • Develop highly engaging, interactive dashboards using Power BI to visualize complex data sets, highlight key trends, identify business opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making across stakeholders. Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
  • Partner with accounting to configure reporting to help generate specific reporting for SEC, FRB and FDIC reporting, including the weekly FR2900, weekly FR2644, quarterly call report and quarterly Y-9. Assist in the preparation and delivery of period reports to the Board of Directors.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise in financial reporting to ensure compliance with reporting requirements, manage end-to-end reporting processes, and identify necessary data to deliver accurate and comprehensive financial reports.
  • Adhere to procedures and internal controls. Ensure that Sarbanes-Oxley controls are performed as documented. Assist manager in making sure all documented procedures and controls are current.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Accounting and Finance teams to gain additional insights for analysis and data validation and understand their evolving information needs. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used by teams through validation and governance practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the department’s data needs, providing support for ad hoc data requests and analysis.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Closely collaborate with the IT department
  • Diagnose data quality issues by drilling down complex data structures to extract the root cause
  • Ensure the documentation of financial reporting processes are properly developed and maintained
  • Assist with system upgrade activities, including testing and documentation

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or similar field. (Required)

Experience

5 or more years data analysis and reporting. (Required)

3 or more years accounting experience. (Preferred)

3 or more years banking or financial services experience. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with SQL and Python programming (Required)
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data quality (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data strategically to drive outcomes and generate measurable business value (Required)
  • Strong communication, storytelling, visualization, writing, presentations, and collaboration (Required)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience researching, gathering, analyzing data, and summarizing results with proven ability providing actionable analysis for decision-making (Required)
