Solution Architect (VPN Gateway Lead)

Looking to hire a Lead who will be managing the design, implementation, and management of a client’s VPN (Virtual Private Network) infrastructure. This role typically requires a mix of technical expertise in networking and security, as well as leadership skills to drive projects and collaborate with other departments.

Your role

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN.
• Integration of VPN gateways with existing network infrastructure (firewalls, routers, etc.).
• Managing VPN gateway performance monitoring/mechanism and resolving connectivity issues related to LAN/WAN.
• Following security measures and usage of encryption protocols for secured data transmission via VPNs.
• Addressing and resolving user access, latency issues, and configuration errors.
• Detailed documentation of configurations, policies, and changes made to VPN systems.
• Periodic reports generation on system performance, usage, and incident resolution.
• Interaction with L3/L2 teams on understanding the new features developments/progress.
• Collaborating with 3rd party vendors (like DIGI, Accelerated) for support and resolution of hardware or software issues.
• Interaction with DevOps teams to integrate VPN gateway bug fixes/patches with CI/CD pipelines.

Your skills and experience

• 15+ years' experience with proficiency in configuring and solving firewalls, routers, and other network devices' issues.
• Hands-on experience working on embedded platforms (OPENWRT, Linux).
• Experience in networking concepts such as DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN, IP Routing, IPSec, SSL, QoS.
• Strong understanding of wired/wireless technologies – 5G, Wi-Fi, GPON, XGS-PON.
• Hands-on experience with VPN gateway technologies such as Cisco ASA, Fortinet, or similar.
• Familiarity with cloud-based VPN solutions (Azure, AWS VPN Gateway, etc.) along with load balancers, and traffic shaping.
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills!

Nice to have

• Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (RADIUS, LDAP, certificates) for VPN access.
• Knowledge of scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and programming language (e.g., C language).
• Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies and hybrid cloud networking!
