JOB TITLE: Senior System Engineer

REMOTE TYPE: Office Worker*

*Office Worker: In office position with work from home allowed, i.e. flex or hybrid worker

JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard St. Dallas, TX 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]

           

DUTIES: Translate core architecture for business requirements into final technical solutions through functional, performance, and reliability analysis using engineering models and techniques. Define design and provide technical enablement for application components and sub-systems for applications. Drive important design decisions for development team. Support quality assurance responsibilities for product flows to define optimal solutions and implement in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications. Use testing techniques to design, develop, and analyze test plans and strategies, write and execute test cases, and troubleshoot defects for applications. Implement test automation strategies to enhance test execution, manual test coverage and the consistency of regression testing. Collaborate with program managers, developmental leads, and architects to identify test scenarios for large programs. Develop data and environment strategies utilizing architectural skills and methodologies to meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability and security needs. Report defects and follow up on their closure. Analyze test results, report test metrics, and prepare and present test reports. Communicate progress of projects using various tools and strategies: governance calls, stand-up calls, formal jeopardies, escalations, daily/weekly progress reports, and defect metrics collections. Coordinate with teams regarding all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle and facilitate certification for production deployment. Utilize multi-tier web application architecture and micro-service technologies. Write basic SQL/NoSQL queries. Perform test planning, test case design, and execution for large-scale projects, focusing on e-commerce order processing and backend automation. Employ automation testing tools and strategy within integrated test environments requiring validation across multiple touchpoint API’s, microservices, communications, file feeds, and UI components. Conduct SCRUM/Agile, DevOps methodology, E2E/integration, progression and regression testing. Document tested features and bugs found within software. Support quality assurance and test architecture responsibilities for major projects by validating critical customer flows in the online digital space. Design and implement test plans and strategies. Write and execute test cases, identify and create defects, and manage them through final resolution. Utilize test automation strategies to enhance test execution and coverage. Work closely with business stakeholders, development, and architects across teams to identify high priority scenarios for end-to-end validation and coordinate testing efforts. Perform test planning, case design, and execution for large-scale projects within an

integrated test environment, requiring validation across multiple touchpoints: API’s, Microservices, file feeds, and UI components. Work with mobile application testing for iOS and Android. Utilize monitoring tools: Kibana (ELK logs), Dynatrace and QM for defect triaging and troubleshooting.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, or five (5) years of experience in a related occupation utilizing multi-tier web application architecture and micro-service technologies; writing basic SQL/NoSQL queries; performing test planning, test case design, and execution for large-scale projects, focusing on e-commerce order processing and backend automation; employing automation testing tools and strategy within integrated test environments requiring validation across multiple touchpoint API’s, microservices, communications, file feeds, and UI components; conducting SCRUM/Agile, DevOps methodology, E2E/integration, progression and regression testing; documenting tested features and bugs found within software; performing test planning, case design, and execution for large-scale projects within an integrated test environment, requiring validation across multiple touchpoints: API’s, Microservices, file feeds, and UI components; working with mobile application testing for iOS and Android; and utilizing monitoring tools: Kibana (ELK logs), Dynatrace and QM for defect triaging and troubleshooting.
