About the role:
This role is responsible for helping ensure critical company compliance with applicable federal, state and local employment laws. The role will require cross-collaboration and partnership with different stakeholders within Legal, Human Resources, Policy and Government Affairs to identify efficiencies and implement and maintain strategic improvements to current processes. The role will support all businesses, operations and functions within Boston Scientific.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process for tracking developments in federal, state and local employment law.
- Collaborate with employment law team and internal business partners (e.g., Human Resources, Policy, Policy, Government Affairs) in developing process to help ensure company compliance with applicable federal, state and local employment laws.
- Continuously evaluate process to identify and advise on strategic improvements.
- Coordinate with Policy team to ensure company policies reflect developments in applicable federal, state and local employment laws.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure legislative updates are appropriately communicated.
- Review legislative updates provided by external counsel and resources and distribute relevant updates to employment law team and other business partners.
- Work with outside counsel to prepare EEO-1 reports and other required filings relating to federal contractor compliance.
- Assist employment law team as needed with other business needs (e.g., separation agreements, employment agreement mutual releases)
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal degree, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a professional role
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and navigate new systems and processes
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a legal or compliance department within a corporate environment
- Background in implementing company- or department-wide processes or systems
- Project management experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong analytical skills and an interest in continuous process improvement
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
