How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Senior Director, End User Product & Regional Experience is a strategic and highly influential leadership role, pivotal in Airgas's shift to a product-led IT organization. This position is responsible for defining and executing the vision and strategy for all end-user technology "products" and services, with a primary focus on optimizing the Airgas employee experience and enabling seamless regional operations.
This leader serves as the central voice for the end-user, ensuring IT remains deeply connected to what's truly happening in the regions. They will champion user-centric solutions, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and act as a key advisor to senior leadership on end-user technology trends and product strategies. This role ensures cost-effective, high-performing, stable, reliable, and scalable end-user technology solutions that meet Airgas business requirements, collaborating closely with central IT functions (e.g., Global Information Operations - GIO) for foundational enterprise infrastructure and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Leadership & Strategy:

  • Develop and champion a comprehensive product vision and strategy for the end-user experience at Airgas, directly aligned with regional business needs and the company's digital transformation initiatives.

  • Lead the development and implementation of an end-user product roadmap, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and user satisfaction by identifying specific regional use cases and unmet needs.

  • Drive a product-led mindset across end-user technology services, emphasizing outcome-driven delivery, continuous iteration, and measurable business value for our employees.

  • Provide thought leadership on emerging end-user technology trends (e.g., cloud-based solutions, AI-powered tools, modern workplace technologies), translating these into actionable product opportunities and strategies for Airgas's end-user environment.

  • Lead the discovery, evaluation, and selection of new end-user technology "products," initiating requirements and advocating for solutions that address unique local Airgas challenges not fully met by global services.

  • Build strong relationships with key Airgas business leaders and regional stakeholders to deeply understand their operational challenges and facilitate technology "product" rationalization decisions that deliver direct regional value.

Regional Connection & Advocacy:

  • Act as the primary local IT ambassador, actively engaging with regional business leaders and end-users to understand their daily operations, technology pain points, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Establish formal and informal mechanisms for gathering continuous feedback from regions, ensuring their insights are prioritized and integrated into end-user technology product development.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-centric language for regional stakeholders, and conversely, translate regional business needs into actionable IT product requirements for engineering teams and GIO.

  • Ensure end-user technology solutions are not just functional, but genuinely enhance regional productivity and operational efficiency.

Team & Product Delivery Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 40+ IT professionals (including product managers, engineers, and support staff), fostering a culture of empowered product teams focused on user outcomes.

  • Champion agile and lean principles within the end-user technology domain, promoting iterative development, rapid prototyping, and continuous delivery of value.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of end-user technology "products" (e.g., device management, collaboration platforms, desktop applications, field solutions), from discovery and design to deployment, adoption, and ongoing optimization.

  • Ensure all end-user technology "products" are accomplished on time and within budget, delivering tangible and measurable value to Airgas's local business units.

  • Manage annual technical infrastructure capital and operating budgets for the end-user product domain, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
