Responsibilities

St. Joseph Medical Group (Kansas City Physician Care) is now hiring a full time Patient Service Representative for our team!  The Patient Service Representative (PSR) duties include, but are not limited to:

• interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
• schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
• verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
• greets and checks in patients
• handles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
• coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing
• the ideal candidate should possess the following: operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques; maintain proficiency in medical terminology; project a positive and helpful attitude; be able to listen well and translate that into professional script

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• previous experience in a medical setting, preferred
• knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
• Customer Service experience, preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
