SUMMARY
The Business Continuity Planning Director supports the Emergency Preparedness across the system of Rochester Regional Health. The role leads the execution of planning, mitigation, response and recovery aspects for an effective Emergency Preparedness program. The Director is responsible to leads and oversee the planning, coordination, maintenance, and updating of Business Continuity plans to address internal and external emergency event responses for all threats that may disrupt the major operations of the entity. The role will work with all levels of leadership and team members, as part of the Emergency Preparedness department to conduct department level business impact analysis, implement business continuity planning and develop and implement departmental downtime procedures.

ATTRIBUTES
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Continuity, Business Administration, Emergency Management or similar field of study required.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Business Continuity program in collaboration with Emergency Preparedness (EP), Digital Technology Services (DTS), and guidance from the Business Continuity (BC) Manager.
- Oversees annual program calendar and associated project plans and ensures timelines are met for accomplishing outstanding tasks.
- Assures that the Business Continuity program maintains compliance with all regulatory and other applicable standards.
- Ensures Emergency Preparedness equipment and supplies are available and in good working order, and that processes are in place to document and update location and condition of all preparedness equipment.
Business Continuity Plans:
Manages the collection, review, and updating of all departmental plans prior to publication, and ensures that the plans are cohesive and comprehensive. Identifies inconsistencies among plans, and addresses as necessary. Works to build consensus when departmental response plans diverge. Identifies systems and operational problems and proposes solutions. Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to assess and categorize risks for developing departmental and system-level business continuity plans including downtime processes. Assist departments in creating clear, leading practice, area-specific Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and maps all existing processes across the organization to maintain a comprehensive inventory of BC resources. Support the maintenance, publishing, and document management of Business Continuity procedures.
Education & Performance Improvement:
Design, implement, present, and document educational programs, exercises, and training for business continuity readiness. Ensures hospital-wide functional or full-scale exercises are conducted per year per policy standards. Develops after-action reports and improvement plans following significantly impactful incidents to capture a comprehensive review of capabilities and define action items for addressing critical gaps or opportunities.
Desired Attributes:
• Subject matter expertise and experience in business continuity planning.
• Experience in Business continuity planning in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with project management methodology, tools and processes, strongly preferred.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
