About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager – Abatement Technologies based in our head office in Hedehusene in Denmark or in our Poznan office in Poland, to join our Group Development organisation.

Ready to help build a better future for generations to come?

In an ever-changing, fast paced world, we owe it to ourselves and our future generations to live life responsibly. At ROCKWOOL, we work relentlessly to enrich modern living through our innovative stone wool solutions.

Join us and make a difference!

Your future team

You will become part of our Group Development organisation, working closely with engineers, project managers and specialists across abatement, process and production technologies. The team consists of highly skilled and dedicated colleagues who are passionate about developing solutions to improve the environmental performance of our stone wool production. We describe ourselves as collaborative, curious and quality‑driven, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability and practical impact in our factories. In this role, you will report to the People & Process Manager in GD and work in close interaction with Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Directors and local OPCOs around the world.

What you will be doing

As Senior Project Manager – Abatement Technologies, you will manage and complete complex development projects – often several at the same time – that support ROCKWOOL’s decarbonisation and emission‑reduction agenda. You will:

  • Lead and oversee complex abatement projects from idea to implementation, securing clear scope, deliverables, timelines and resource plans.

  • Develop project strategies, objectives and plans in alignment with the overall GD and portfolio strategy and ensure project targets support ROCKWOOL’s business and sustainability goals.

  • Coordinate and manage cross‑functional project teams, facilitate communication with stakeholders and ensure strong collaboration between Group functions and Operational Companies (OPCOs).

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues early, and define effective mitigation actions to keep projects on track in terms of safety, time, cost and quality.

  • Manage project budgets and resources, and ensure adherence to ROCKWOOL’s project management principles, best practices and quality standards, including documentation and reporting.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to project team members and colleagues, fostering a positive, safety‑oriented and high‑performance work environment.

  • Engage in detailed technical discussions with the project team and ensure a culture of fact-based decision making in the project.

  • Take the lead on physical tests at factory sites and lead by example within a production environment.

You can expect to travel 50-60 days per year, with trips varying from just a couple of days to a week at a time. You will travel primarily in Europe – mostly to meet with colleagues and suppliers and to supervise the implementation of your designs.

What you bring

You are an experienced project manager with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in emission reduction and abatement technologies. To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • A relevant engineering degree, for example in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a similar field, or equivalent experience from abatement‑related roles in process industry.

  • Solid experience with project management in an industrial, process or production environment, ideally with exposure to abatement, flue gas treatment, emission control or related technologies.

  • A proven track record of managing complex stakeholders at different organisational levels and driving cross‑functional collaboration across countries and cultures.

  • Good knowledge and interest in production processes and the ability to translate end‑user needs from factories into actionable development goals and concrete project activities.

  • Strong planning, leadership and communication skills – you set clear goals, involve and motivate others, prioritise, delegate and follow up constructively.

  • Experience with structured project management methods (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner or similar) and a disciplined approach to documentation, reporting and continuous improvement.

  • Intercultural experience and fluency in English, spoken and written, at a high professional business level.

We know that you might not meet all the criteria on this list, but you may bring skills and experience that we haven’t even included here. If you believe this role could be a match, we encourage you to apply.
