Serves as a leader and subject matter expert to drive global production quality and global supplier quality (including sustaining, new product development, external manufacturing, and distributed products) related projects. Supports key quality projects at all manufacturing sites & suppliers sites to enhance the processes and ensure outgoing product quality that meets customer expectations and assures the safety of patients. In cooperation with the global manufacturing and global quality operational excellence teams, this role creates a gemba orientation, culture of quality, and continuous improvement in everything we do, putting patient safety at the center of our daily focus. Works independently developing objectives, plans, and global strategies to ensure effective achievement of these business goals and objectives. Responsible for the development of solutions to problems of unusual complexity across our global factory and supplier quality organization. Works with Quality and Operations leaders for each factory, as well as Global Supplier Quality leaders, and the entire Global Quality organization to drive best practice standardization and drive process improvement across the network.      

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Partners with the Sr Director, Global Quality Factory Support in driving production quality, product quality, regulatory compliance, business process standardization, and optimization across the global network of manufacturing sites and supplier quality.
  • Drives critical initiatives like implementing in-process quality across all the factories, improve predictability of product release timelines, and identify head count optimization opportunities among others to achieve the annual budget objectives. 
  • Develop and direct implementation of plans for the purpose of achieving multi-functional and cross-functional goals intended to support business objectives through appropriate use of human and technology resources (internal and external).
  • Develop constructive relationships with cross-functional leaders. Clarify and simplify problems and develop bridge-building solutions that improve relationships across all functions and processes in BCT.  Lead problem-solving teams.
  • Ensure site quality teams and suppliers for both new and sustaining products deliver in the areas of process improvements, trend monitoring, and correlating leading quality metrics, problem solving approaches, and data analysis.
  • Develop, report on, and improve metrics related to product and supplier quality.
  • Communicates on all levels with senior management, including technical, strategic, and business.
  • Identifies project and new process opportunities, is able to articulate value and risk of opportunities, and organizes and drives implementation.
  • Facilitate the sharing and implementation of quality best practices across the company.
  • Work with internal resources to resolve problems of exceptional complexity and sensitivity. May be primary representative of quality group on projects or management teams.
  • Understand customer issues and works to resolve problems with product, procedures and policies, driving change where necessary at the factories to resolve these issues.
  • Understand business process issues and works together with business process leadership to resolve problems in the processes, procedures and policies, driving change where necessary. Accountable for operating policy for area of responsibility.
  • Manages and provides leadership for the functional group’s development, progress, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies and processes and supporting overall business and corporate objectives.
  • Utilizes technical, managerial expertise and creativity to evaluate proposed solutions, adaptations, and modifications to projects and processes used globally.
