Optician in Training - New Castle

At Dr. Tavel, we have been family owned for over 80 years and are focused on providing outstanding eye exams, glasses, and contacts at our 24 Indiana offices. Our team is collaborative and focused on providing a SPEC-tacular patient experience to help Hoosiers see better, look better, and feel better. This role will be working 25 hours a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Must be willing to travel to Anderson and Muncie when needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Style patients in fashionable eyewear
• Educate patients on the latest lens technologies
• Sell glasses and contacts to patients helping them maximize the value of their insurance

• Assisting with general front office operations: answering the phone, check-in, check-out, and pretesting patients
• All things insurance: verifying eligibility, answers questions, and authorizing benefits
• Completing training to advance your skills and knowledge

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Optician is a big plus
• A positive attitude and a willingness to strive for excellence
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work evenings 2 days per week and Saturdays
• Bilingual in Spanish is a big plus
