Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position exists to supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the LLDPE Instrument Maintenance technicians. By exercising supervision on direct first-level maintenance works, smooth operations, high-quality workmanship, competitive costs, and a clean and safe working environment will be achieved. This position will strive for continual improvement in every area of Maintenance involvement, resulting ultimately in a profitable and competitive position for our Company.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Process Improvement: Utilizes recognized process techniques and other tools to develop, maintain, and present required reports detailing the effectiveness of existing processes or supporting the need to introduce new process improvements. All while ensuring all PSM and environmental requirements are understood and met. Communicate with involved engineering groups to ensure improvements are completed according to best engineering practices.
Lead and Facilitate the Fulfillment of Product Delivery and Commitment: Anticipate needs, work as a problem solver to eliminate potential issues, and enhance consistent delivery of quality products exceeding customer expectations. The role requires managing, solving, and/or recommending a resolution to discrepancies, deviations, abnormalities, customer complaints, quality, and non-quality-related issues. Control regular and major maintenance budgets (monthly and annually); monitor projects to ensure spending stays within approved allowances. Assist with cost tracking and reporting.
Process Safety Management: Assist with elements of the process safety management standard, including but not limited to Management of Change, Process Safety Information, and Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews.
Staff Development: Engaged and self-motivated to learn through available educational materials, researching on the internet, and staying up to date on safety and standard operating procedure training and development. Learn from previous unit experiences. Engage and participate through direct collaboration with the area supervisor and manager in daily field activities to better comprehend the area’s needs and responsibilities.
THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total Housekeeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution Program. Maintain plant in like-new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
• Education
◦ High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of direct job-related experience required.
• Previous Related Experience Required
◦ Five (5) years’ experience in the I&E Maintenance field, which includes at least three (3) years in the Instrument maintenance department of a Petrochemical plant or refinery.
• Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job
◦ Ability to perform necessary duties of corporate "workflow" systems, maintenance procedures, online Training, Safety modules, Ceridian-Dayforce functions, AS400
◦ General PC skills such as MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
◦ Good technical writing and do
