Salary Range - $47,000 - $57,000 (commensurate with experience)

Performs general administrative and clerical duties in support of the Mayor’s Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (MOEDI). MOEDI works to identify and develop systems & behavioral change solutions that advance equitable outcomes to continue Moving Atlanta Forward.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Greets in person visitors as needed; answer the telephone and forward/record calls appropriately; open, sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Provides senior leader scheduling support.
  • Serves as onsite vendor contact; collect quotes, prepare requisitions and vendor invoices for payment; handle routine vendor requests; troubleshoot and resolve invoice discrepancies; ensure timely invoice payments. 
  • Composes and distributes monthly MOEDI and LGBTQ budget reports.
  • Attends budget/finance meetings, seminars and training sessions as required to remain knowledgeable of departmental operations, to promote improved job performance and to stay current with changing state/municipal policies, codes and laws.
  • Provides data analysis/research services as needed on behalf of MOEDI team. 
  • Assists team with event support; pack, unpack, and store event materials.

  • Knowledge of administrative and office practices.
  • Must be tactful and diplomatic in all interactions with a high degree of good judgment.
  • Committed and very conscientious about accuracy of work product.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in expanding knowledge and understanding of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategies in municipal government.

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or an associate’s degree in a related field 
  • Two years of experience in a progressively responsible secretarial, clerical, or administrative support role.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred Education & Experience

Previous experience in a financial and event support role.
