About the role

Warehouse Asset Disposal and Repurpose Clerks perform tasks needed to complete specific projects while maintaining a high level of integrity. They maintain clean and well-organized work areas. They are responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming furniture and materials, picking and filling orders from inventory, and staging orders. They monitor and maintain current inventory levels, maintain up to date Dropbox files, and perform physical count of inventory. Recycle or dispose of assets that are damaged and/or out of support. Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; re-stocks items as necessary; labels shelves. Processes and documents returns as required following established procedures. Performs routine clerical duties, including data entry, answering telephones, and assisting customers. May guide and train student employees performing related work as appropriate to the area of operation. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Provide clear spoken and written information to supervisors and managers regarding the status of situations or orders. Answer inquiries about the maintenance/inventory management system or procedures. Cooperate with peers, managers, and operations personnel and act as a liaison between other employees and departments when it comes to physical inventory or parts and supplies. Update inventory data in Dropbox. Ensures that work is carried out to specification. Compile, classify, collate, and organize information.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate a variety of warehouse equipment to move inventory in an efficient manner.

2. Works with a high level of integrity.

3. Maintain quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments.

4. Unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against product invoices.

5. Check the items in inventory for damages or discrepancies.

6. Organizing and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests.

7. Properly accounting for the location of incoming goods.

8. Compare packing lists to company purchase orders.

9. Ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list.

10. Snow removal during inclement weather.

11. Fill out any paperwork necessary.

12. Place work orders to Materials Movement.

13. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering Liberty University’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Warehouse and central receiving experience.
  • Working knowledge of the following software.
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Dropbox
    • SC Logic
    • Asan

Communication and Comprehension

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community with customers and associates.
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.

Problem Solving

  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Occasionally required to travel to other warehouses and locations on campus.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Required to occasionally lift up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to be certified and drive University vehicles including vans and box trucks.
  • Ability to be certified and operated forklift.

 WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a done in both occasional extreme heat and cold. Conditions in the warehouse normally mirror those of the outside environment. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

Driving of university vehicles will be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
