The Role:

This is a temporary (6-7 months) position to cover a key area of our North American business for approximately a 7-month period. It is a great opportunity to work for an exciting company on the fast track to becoming an industry leader in the kids’ entertainment business. This position will manage licensing for the FMCG categories in North America. The individual will be responsible for providing input on the category strategy, account management of all FMCG licensees, and ensuring we are on track to meet & exceed revenue targets and growth objectives as well as aligning on the collective goals of the business. Identify prospective partners, close deals, negotiate favorable terms, and expand the business by identifying white space in the defined product categories. This position is based in New York and will report to the Head of CP – the Americas.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of CP – the Americas to execute the licensing strategy both short and long-term to meet and exceed budget targets for Moonbug brands in the North American hardlines categories. Identify industry trends, white space opportunities, and new product innovation/expansion to grow the business
  • Research markets and categories and identify white space and business opportunities in all FMCG categories across the brand portfolio. Source prospective partners and conduct due diligence and analysis of markets, categories, proposals, business plans, and financial commitments.
  • Manage relationships with all key North America FMCG partners and handle all aspects of account management that can be leveraged from a revenue, marketing, social and PR perspective while managing and delivering assigned financial targets as well as ensuring all rights are being exploited/maximized continually strengthening our licensee base.
  • Analyze account performance and develop growth goals that are aligned with the overarching Consumer Products plans. Conduct regular business meetings with licensees to provide brand updates, and discuss current performance, retail placement, areas of improvement, and opportunities for growth.
  • Negotiate & manage local, regional, and global deals with FMCG partners that have HQs in US & Canada with the aim to maximize Moonbug business opportunities.
  • Develop NA-specific plans for licensing through signing regional and local licensees, ensuring we negotiate, create, and deliver the right product assortment for our diverse consumers. Bring new partners that can help increase both revenues and awareness of Moonbug brands and characters in North America.
  • Participate in meetings with senior management to review licensee performance and communicate licensing strategy for FMCG categories.
  • Build relationships and closely collaborate with other internal teams including GM’s, brand marketing, CP franchise, retail sales & marketing, international licensing, PD, Legal, and Finance to share information and develop business opportunities on a broader scale.
  • Liaise with finance on forecasting and collection of royalty reports and payments from licensees due under licensing agreements.
  • Partner with the Product Development team to generate new and innovative ideas for product licensing extensions and ensure we are putting forth competitive and high-quality product in all instances that accurately represents the DNA of each specific brand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related major.At least 8+ years of licensing experience in the North American market.
  • Strong licensing and business development background in children’s entertainment licensing, preferably in the FMCG category including a proven track record of success in generating and increasing revenue and long-term value.
