Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or an equivalent level of experience.
CPA certification or in progress preferred;
4+ years or more progressive experience in accounting roles preferably in banking.
Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP).
SEC financial reporting regulations experience
Knowledge of internal controls and audit Procedures
Some supervisory experience a bonus.
Proficiency in accounting software
Ability to lead financial analysis projects and interpret complex financial data
Experience with preparing and some review of financial statements and supporting docs.
Tasks Performed:
- 30% - Oversight of various assigned accounting and reporting systems and maintaining data integrity; processing or review of monthly journal entries, compliance with GAAP and update of systems/models for changes
- 30%-Responsible for timely preparation and/or review of quarterly press releases; annual report and other SEC reporting
- 20% -Analyze and document technical accounting issues and new accounting regulations
- 10% Participate in completion of Company's annual budget process by preparing forecasts throughout the year as well as the formal budget process
- 5%- Train, mentor, develop and oversee staff and conduct performance reviews
- 5% - Other duties as assigned.
