General Position Description: Works among a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing bio-psycho-social psychiatric evaluation, treatment planning, and medication management to a range of clients with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts trauma informed bio-psycho-social evaluation and treatment planning for a broad range of psychiatric disorders.
• Provides diagnostic evaluation and clarification for complex presentations.
• Leads treatment team in overall treatment planning from a bio-psycho-social perspective.
• Provides medical decision making, including psychosocial and medical/medication treatment recommendations and crisis response to new and existing clients.
• Provides consultation and health education to agency staff, caregivers, and clients regarding clients' treatment and medication needs.
• Participates in facility discharge planning with intra and inter-agency staff.
• Documents concurrently while conducting interviews in the electronic medical record and complete all notes the same day as the service was provided.
• Maintains documentation of services, including progress notes, medication informed consent, and other required information in compliance with EBF and third-party compliance standards.
• Practices within the standard of care guided by practice parameters and best practices from regional and national stake-holding organizations
• Supports in-person and telehealth appointments as needed.
• Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with Psychiatric Specialty or Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with 2 years of experience in behavioral health either pre or post-degree preferred. Current active unrestricted licensed in the State of Arizona required.  Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. 

Regulatory:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Current, unrestricted AZ driver’s license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3 years). Three (3) years of driving experience required.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides).
• CPR and First Aid certification (Employer provides).

Skills/Job Knowledge/Abilities: Must have broad psychiatric knowledge around development, substance use, and trauma as they relate to mental health. Knowledge in the appropriate therapeutic interventions, including psychopharmacology. Working knowledge of medical evaluations for physical disease as it contributes to mental health and referral as appropriate. Ability to conduct a psychiatric risk assessment and perform emergency evaluation and treatment recommendations for patients in crisis. Must be attentive and responsive to monitoring practices (labs, AIMS, etc.) related to safety and health plan requirements and agreements. Must have familiarity with practice related state and clinic policies and procedures. Able to establish and maintain a team atmosphere of communication and collaboration for all that reach out to the Department. Must be self-directed and be sensitive to cultural and linguistic diversity. Must
