Product Marketing Principal
The successful Product Marketing Principal [Internally titled Product Marketing Director] is a life-long learner with a growth mindset that is passionate about storytelling. In this role, you will help build out our position as the leader in providing order-to-cash solutions to businesses focused on B2B interactions.
As the Product Marketing Director, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and leverage your abilities to build scalable, repeatable go-to-market (GTM) processes all while keeping abreast of industry trends with an agile approach to managing priorities and deliverables. Additionally, your GTM strategies will be the foundation for demand generation to further strengthen our market share. This is a strategic product marketing role – where you will be supporting and collaborating with extended marketing teams including revenue marketing as well as our creative services team. This is a individual contributor Director role.
What You'll Do:
- Lead GTM strategy in partnership with revenue marketing and the sales teams.
- Develop and evolve core product marketing fundamentals; including defining customer segments, messaging frameworks, value propositions.
- Craft clear, compelling and differentiated product messaging, positioning, and proof points based on a deep understanding of the customer, verticals and the global market.
- Develop a deep understanding of our target market, including buyer personas, key use cases, and customer needs. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on Billtrust’s value propositions, core capabilities and market landscape.
- Create and execute innovative strategies and marketing plans that drive market awareness, engagement and product adoption. Be the product evangelist internally supporting all product adoption needs.
- Define, track and report on KPIs that clearly demonstrate the impact Product Marketing has on business goals.
- Build thought leadership to drive awareness and promotion of Billtrust products and solutions, leveraging various mediums (i.e., webinars, website, videos, etc.).
- Build and maintain high-value sales tools (pitch decks, product solution guides, FAQs, etc.) that communicate the vision and value of Billtrust products and facilitate the selling process.
- Synthesize market, product, and customer insights to influence the roadmap and ensure a consistent, compelling customer experience in partnership with product management.
What You'll Bring:
- 10+ years’ experience in B2B product marketing preferred within the SaaS or payments industry
- Experience in B2B payments required (Card, ACH, etc.)
- Ability to bring new ideas to the table with a fresh perspective on product marketing
- Strategic mindset with a pragmatic attitude- ability to translate ideas into action, and manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently, while demonstrating flexibility and creativity
- Solid understanding of the overall technology landscape with the ability to understand data and how to apply it to identify opportunities and solve problems
- Teamwork, interpersonal and relationship-building skills; strong leader and player with proven ability to facilitate cross-organizational alignment
- Relevant MBA or master’s degree strongly preferred
- Strategy consulting and international experience is preferred
- Developed leadership, execution and interpersonal skills
The expected base salary range for this position is $170,000.00 - $195,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.
