Requirements

We are seeking a talented Project Manager with a passion for renewable energy and a strong background in the solar industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of solar projects for SolAmerica owned projects as an IPP (Independent Power Producer). This role requires exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively manage resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure the successful implementation of solar projects.

 Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing solar energy projects managed through turnkey EPC contractors and/or Self-EPC general contractor arrangements for Distributed Energy (DG) ground-mount solar installations activities. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of solar projects and maximizing their environmental and financial benefits. You will lead a team of cross-functional people to achieve project objectives and contribute to the growth of the company.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall delivery of the project within budget, schedule, and quality requirements;
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution;
  • Manage project resources and allocate tasks to team members;
  • Conduct regular project meetings to identify and address any issues or risks;
  • Manage engineering and procurement teams to ensure the timely delivery of equipment and materials;
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar systems, ensuring adherence to safety, health and environmental standards;
  • Communicate project status updates, milestones, and key deliverables to internal teams, management, and financing partners;
  • Develop and manage critical path project schedules and key milestones to align with company and financing requirements;
  • Manage project Qualify plans to ensure that projects ensure the project meets quality requirements;
  • Manage Utility interconnection processes to align with project requirements; and
  • Coordinate with financing parties on financing needs and deliverables.

  

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the solar energy industry;
  • Strong understanding of solar photovoltaic systems and installation practices;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans, drawings, specifications, bid materials, contracts and related construction documents.  Additional training in these skills will be provided;
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work in a team environment where the focus is on the goals and objectives that determine the success of the projects;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to exercise judgment to appropriately balance risks with business objectives;
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to constantly learn and improve;
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple competing priorities;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team;
  • Knowledge of project management software and tools;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and
  • Understanding or regulatory requirements related to solar energy projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with renewable energy companies and a deep understanding of the solar industry;
  • Experience with solar electrical equipment engineering and/or electrical engineering;
  • Experience with solar racking design and engineering process (geotechnical studies, pile load testing, etc.);
