Description

The Assistant IT Officer effectively works with designated supervisor to ensure that vessels computer and network systems are working efficiently and that they are well maintained. Role of Assistant IT Officer mainly is focused on support and maintenance of all computers and network devices and peripherals which includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading equipment while ensuring optional performance. Assistant IT Officer provides end user support and troubleshooting for our vessels where required. 

IT Related Responsibilities

1.      Follow HESS policies and procedures provided by shore side Fleet IT, Ships management and the Company
 
 2.      Work with Senior IT Officer/IT Officer to plan, facilitate, and deploy software/hardware projects and upgrades. Perform other duties assigned by Senior IT Officer/IT Officer. 3.      Providing day to day operational support for desktops, laptops, peripherals and all mobile devices as well as providing user support. 4.      Work daily with Senior IT Officer/IT Officer on maintenance of Server and Network Infrastructure if assigned and instructed by superior.
 
 5.      Responsible for onboard IPTV System and its infrastructure onboard our vessels, providing day to day operation support for Broadcast Center and Satellite TV System.
 
 6.      Assisting in receiving, tracking and off-loading all IT related equipment on and off the vessel. 7.      Assist in Daily, Weekly, Monthly checklist tasks to be completed as per shoreside instructions. 8.      Weekly status reporting back to Senior IT Officer/IT Officer.
 
 9.      Document hand-over reports to in-coming Assistant IT Officer’s.
 
 10.  Assist in Set-up, set-down, and troubleshoot of embarkation check-in workstations and equipment.
 
 11.  Management of on-board IT inventory
 
 12.  Routine repairs and maintenance of hardware where possible
 
 13.  Assist Senior IT Officer/IT Officer in supporting for all systems below:13.1.        Network infrastructure13.2.        VMware virtual infrastructure13.3.        Backup Systems13.4.        Satellite infrastructure13.5.        CCTV Systems13.6.        IPTV Systems13.7.        Printers and Scanners13.8.        Internet Café (iCafe) systemsSpecialized Marine, Technical & Hotel Department systems 

14.      Follows and adheres to all Fleet Regulations related to health and safety procedures, training and requirements. 15.      Leads by example in matters of professionalism, ethics, responsibility, integrity, ownership, engagement and personal presentation.
 
 16.      Fulfills emergency duty as assigned in the Ships Mustering System; Ensures to attend applicable trainings in a timely manner and educates him/herself on any written communication in order to execute this emergency function efficiently.
