Job Description

Are you ready to join Vattenfall as our new System Engineer and contribute to our goal towards fossil free living within one generation with your FMECA (Failure more, effects, and critical analysis) toolbox ? In  this role you will support Asset Integrity Management within our Business Area Wind, Offshore Generation.

Offshore Generation is the business area that is fully accountable for the Asset performance of Vattenfall’s offshore wind farms. This includes operating the wind farms through optimization of revenues in relation to the power market and maintaining the wind farms in a healthy, safe, sustainable and cost efficient way to ensure best availability and full compliance with requirement.

The Asset Integrity Management team’s area of responsibility is broad, and includes, amongst others:

  • Delivering Integrity overview and control, short & long term
  • Delivering maintenance strategy and implementation to CMMS across all operating site
  • Development of data visibility both within reliability and integrity management
  • With support of our Technical Authorities in engineering ensure that decisions made for Integrity impact in day to day business
  • Responsible for QA of investment strategy

 

Your tasks and responsibilities:

 

The primary responsibility of the System Engineer is to  lead the development of, prepare and plan FMECA work to support the maintenance strategy for the new site.

Furthermore you will:

  • Lead and develop existing FMECA work and support development opportunities
  • Be part of an innovative team with a focus on Asset Integrity and Risk Management
  • Improve best practice through learnings from operation; remove complexity and align standards
  • Develop management systems with a high focus on alignment and visibility of the maintenance strategy and supporting processes
  • Work in close dialog with the compliance team to maintain Integrity in the FMECA work stream
  • Be a part of a team that has a focus on risk and Integrity management
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, HSE, and reliability teams, to gather necessary data, conduct analyses, and implement corrective measures.
  • Prepare comprehensive FMECA reports, outlining the analysis results, recommended actions, and risk mitigation strategies in the form of actionable maintenance task list
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying areas for process optimization and proposing enhancements to the FMECA methodology.

 

As a System Engineer, you will work with a variety of stakeholders especially in Offshore Engineering, Asset Management and Operation to ensure focus on optimizing the operational life and yield of the windfarms and our portfolio of operating assets.

 

Location

Work location can be Kolding in Denmark, Hamburg in Germany or London in the UK.  This position requires a flexible approach to travel activity, around 20 days per year to be expected. 

Qualifications

Your profile:

  • You have an engineering degree within Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering
  • You have extensive knowledge and experience in conducting FMECA studies within a Power Generation or engineering environment
  • Experience within operating CMMS SAP system
  • Experience in using condition based maintenance models
  • Experience in using reliability data & risk based maintenance
  • Experience in using management system processes
  • Good English language skills both oral and written and a plus if you also have good Danish/German language skills
  • You are a team player with excellent stakeholder management skills
