Job Description
Visa Direct is a payment service Visa provides to clients (sending and receiving financial institutions, processors, merchants, and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to accounts around the world using push payment technology. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payouts to shared economy providers), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursement), and more.
Responsibilities
The Director, Global Sales will lead strategic engagements with key clients and partners that are critical to the success of Visa Direct’s domestic and cross border solutions. Engagement begins with an early -stage consultation to understand the partner’s needs, resources and targeted timeframe. Conversations will continue as we co-design a solution with the partner, agreeing on scope, and timelines. Management of multiple stakeholders and teams within Visa will be required to manage multiple sales opportunities across different regions, create complex deal structures, negotiate, and close multiple deals simultaneously. The candidate will have direct engagement with clients.
The ideal candidate will be a structured, experienced money-movement leader, an analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in how products are developed and delivered. S/he will possess a unique combination of sales, business development, product expertise, product solutioning, marketing, problem solving ability, flexibility with rapid changes, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail. Day to day responsibilities include the following -
- Look for new opportunities across different verticals and different regions.
- Aggregate and maintain a list of new opportunities as well as on-going deals
- Familiarity with digital payment technologies, the payment ecosystem and the various players involved in the value chain
- Develop subject matter expertise on the Visa Direct product suite, including pull payments, push payments (card, account and wallet), domestic, cross-border, platform expertise, market readiness, product features, pricing economics, and global nuances.
- Identify opportunities with clients and partners and co-design solutions to unlock these opportunities
- Clearly articulate product functionality and commercials to clients and partners
- Clearly articulate structure of the deal to internal parties (finance, upper management, legal, product…)
- Collaborate with cross-functional business, product, technology, client services and other teams to deliver best in class client solutions and product offerings
- Facilitate communication while managing partner relationships, leading cross functional teams and corresponding with senior management.
- Look for innovative ways to sell Visa Direct to merchants, FIs, Fintechs, enablers and other partners
The ideal candidate will work closely with clients that are market moving, cross border payments innovators and on projects that have high visibility and impact. S/he should be motivated by managing high profile, complex projects relatively independently. Given the strategic nature of the cross-border partners involved and the end-to-end responsibility of the role, the candidate is very well positioned for recognition and growth.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
