Job Summary
Under the Director of Strategic Planning, Assessment, and Statistics, the Data Entry Clerk provides accurate and timely data input to support assessment operations at WCUCOM. This position plays a critical role in maintaining data integrity for student performance records, course evaluations, and institutional reporting.

- Assist WCUCOM and WCU in the implementation of their respective Mission Statements, Statement(s) of Purpose, Institutional Plan(s), and Financial Plan(s)
- Efficiently and effectively perform duties as indicated by the Director of SPAS and the Associate Dean, Academic Affairs, including but not limited to, taking meeting minutes, as well as tracking and documentation associated with daily operations
- Create, gather, duplicate, disseminate, organize and/or store current and archival academic records (electronic and/or paper copies, as specified)
- Enter and verify data for assessments, evaluations, attendance, and other metrics.
- Coordinate with other team members to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Assist in survey distribution and collection.
- Assist with and help maintain academic student progress tracking (academic status, non-academic status)
- Assist with semester course evaluations by students and faculty
- Serve as a resource person for faculty and students; refer faculty and students to appropriate persons and/or departments as needed
- Assist in cross training employees, including student workers, for various tasks and job responsibilities
- Assist WCUCOM Assistant to the Registrar with student files and registration
- Assist with syllabi review and curriculum mapping for WCUCOM
- Attend University events when staff participation is expected
- Assist in other departments when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability and willingness to learn other academic database software programs, as needed
- Must possess strong attention to detail, including assurance of accurate data entry
- Must have the ability to work independently, multitask effectively, meet deadlines, exercise good judgment, demonstrate tactfulness and discretion, and maintain confidentiality
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have ability to accurately proofread and edit documents
- Must be punctual and able to work required hours.
- Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, especially strong phone etiquette
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems and work effectively with a variety of situations and people
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (plus) years in a data entry position
- Bachelor’s degree
Physical Demands
- Must possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, such as a computer, have the vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and have hearing and speech to communicate appropriately in person and over the telephone.
- Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able and willing to walk or travel short distances on campus daily for WCUCOM-related business.
- Must be able to perform duties in an on-campus setting.
