As a Senior R&D Engineer with focus on materials, you will be at the forefront of technological advancement within our reading and writing team. You'll conduct hands-on research, collaborate with global suppliers, and lead exciting innovation projects centered around the core materials of our devices – from the tablet itself to the unique display and our signature marker. This is a unique opportunity to directly contribute to the next generation of reMarkable products and elevate the user experience.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Conduct hands-on experiments, measurements, analyses, and prototype builds in our dedicated labs, while also collaborating with suppliers to source novel materials, technologies, and samples.

• Plan and execute new research project ideas, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery, and document all results, measurements, and project outcomes.

• Contribute innovative ideas for products, technologies, and research methodologies, staying updated on relevant advancements and competitor activities.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance R&D throughput and contribute as a domain expert across the organization.

• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We are looking for the following experience:

• A strong technical foundation as an experimental scientist or R&D Engineer with as a minimum a Master’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, Nanoscience/Technology.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate or industrial R&D.

• Proven ability in planning, reporting, and presenting technical findings effectively.

• Experience working with external suppliers/partners is a significant plus.

• Hands-on experience with material characterization and rapid prototyping is highly beneficial.
