How will you make an impact in this role?
The VP Data Management and Data Governance is responsible for data management and stewardship functions across the Enterprise Technology Services organization. This includes Accounts Receivable, Loyalty, Banking, Digital Acquisition, Customer and Technology platforms. Working closely with the Enterprise Data Office, the VP will be responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, and execution of data governance and data management initiatives across all data risk disciplines.
In addition, this role will matrix manage Technology Product and Engineering staff as required where those staff perform Data Custodian functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive data management and governance strategy that supports the Enterprise Technology Services goals, regulatory requirements and business objectives, in line with Enterprise Data Management strategy and policy requirements. Engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders to communicate data management and governance initiatives and progress.
Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance in collaboration with the Enterprise Data Office.
Data Management: Oversee the implementation and management of Data Management solutions including data cataloging, classification, lineage and integration for structured and unstructured data
Collaboration: Partner with Product and Engineering teams where they perform data custodian functions. Partner with the Information Security team to ensure that the organization meets the required Data Protection objectives.
Issue Management: Identify and mitigate data risks, issues and incidents ensuring compliance with data-related regulations and policies.
