Infrastructure Category Senior IT Buyer

The Technology Cluster department covers all purchasing activities related to Software, Infrastructure, Security, as well as APAC regional purchasing.

The Infrastructure Category Senior IT Buyer drives the development of worldwide category practices for Infrastructure categories such as Compute, Storage, Network, Colocations, Hosting, Personal Equipment, Security Services, Data Center services. It includes sourcing strategy definition, deployment, and stakeholder management, to maximise cost savings and procurement value contribution. He/She plays a pivotal role on defining category strategies in a global scale. He/she drives and supports the implementation of category strategies by leading category sourcing initiatives. He/She develops, together with Intrastructure team and Cloud Service Providers Lead Buyer, the strategy for the transition of current Infrastructure category management in the context of Move to Public Cloud. He/she closely collaborates with other Technology Cluster teams: Software / Telco and APAC.

Main Responsibilities

Execute global category strategy, lead sourcing projects, contract implementation, drive contract compliance

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing processes from negotiation to contract
  • Lead supplier selection and fact based negotiations
  • Establish measures and controls for the Category practice to ensure and track successful implementation.
  • Coordinate contract implementation tasks with Regional Buyers and users
  • Interact with Legal and Finance teams when required in relation to purchasing scope.

Manage the procurement strategy definition and implementation / from Strategic planning to sourcing execution for a set of global categories

  • Participate to analysis of category spend baseline and category profile, incl. risk assessment, SRM and P2P strategy
  • Develop specific Category strategies with the support of the Cluster Lead and Category Lead buyers.
  • Lead internal and external analysis (industry and supplier) as a member of a cross functional sourcing team.

Manage supplier relationships for Global categories

  • In line with defined procurement strategy, support the classification and categorisation of suppliers.
  • Track supplier performance and lead supplier development activities.
  • Identify potential contract improvement opportunities & re-negotiations

Manage internal customer relationships for global categories

  • Within the framework of the cross functional supplier development teams, closely develop and manage the relationship with internal customers
  • Proactively organise sessions with internal customers to identify further TCO/TVO reduction opportunities

Participate to Purchasing internal organization

  • Report activity to management
  • Participate to team and cluster meetings
  • Raise any alert, propose improvements
  • Follow MBO process including definition of objectives, mid and end year review

Stakeholders

Purchasing, Vendors, Legal, Finance, all internal customer divisions including R&D, Operations, Implementation, and Marketing teams.

Location

This position can either based in Nice (France), or Madrid (Spain) or Erding (Germany).

Education

Bachelor or higher degree on Purchasing, Business Administration or Engineering.

Relevant work experience

Ideally, +5 years' experience within a strategic IT procurement environment or, alternatively, Engineering or Sales background supplemented by relevant job experience providing wide and deep insights into Purchasing practice.
Proven delivery focus and ability to work to tight timelines.
Proven ability to discuss complex technical topics and to abstract and summarize them for non technical audience.
