About the role

To ensure the delivery and receipt of equipment and supplies, including transportation between campus buildings, and ensure the usability and appearance of campus buildings.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES


Customer Service:

  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills through a positive attitude, approachability, adaptibility, and willingness to support student success.

  • Engage in behaviors that promote an inclusive environment for all students and staff.

  • Take initiative to identify and address logistical issues on campus, and develop a plan of action to prevent issues from reoccurring.

  • Represent the college and the Facilities Department professionally through interactions with campus members and visitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive deliveries from mail carriers and vendors. Complete tracking paperwork for packages and mail. Distribute packages and mail to the appropriate departments through all campus buildings.

  • Pick-up and Drop-off of packages or equipment to/from various vendors or mailing services.

  • Set up and break down rooms for campus functions including office moves, new furniture installation, event set ups, etc.

  • Use moving equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklift, to transport large items.

  • Load and unload of trucks as necessary.

  • Use work order system effectively to document tasks and task completion.

  • Assist in inventory management for facilities assets such as furniture, flooring stock, artwork, etc.

  • Use copy machine and printers to fulfill duplication requests from faculty and staff members.

  • Manage campus fleet vehicles, including vehicle reservations, routine maintenance, routine cleanings and refueling.

  • Other duties as assigned.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License and ability to be insurable by the College’s insurance carrier.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly.

  • Ability to bend, twist, push and pull up to 50lbs regularly, and work above your head.

  • Ability to use technology to perform the functions of the job, including using computers and tablets, Microsoft Office programs, copy machines and printers.

  • Significant physical effort is needed for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Forklift driver certification

  • Ability to operate handheld power tools, such as a drill

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $15.00/hourly
