Job Overview
The Material Control Manager is responsible for the planning and procurement of materials to support all short and long-term OE and Aftermarket sales. This employee will lead the purchasing, planning, and inventory control teams to ensure the proper material is on hand to prevent production stoppages and workforce downtime. This employee will oversee the Buyer and Planner positions to oversee their functions, including all purchasing, inventory level management, and job order programming. Additionally, the Material Control Manager will be responsible for the management of the master schedule, confirming the correct build materials and inventory are reflected and supported by the planned purchasing timeline.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Through the Purchasing department, responsible for all activities involved in managing vendor schedule control to ensure on time delivery, accurate system records and target inventory levels.
- Establishes company inventory plans and continuously monitors for corrective actions and improvements.
- Oversees the implementation and management of an MRP system within current TimberPro Infor ERP system.
- Develops and implements warehouse programs, processes, and procedures. Establishes overall material handling plans including warehousing and material flow plans.
- Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of warehouse and receiving employees.
- Conducts root cause analysis, establish counter measures, and maintain performance metrics to achieve business plan objectives. Host monthly calls with key suppliers to discuss ongoing requirements and forecasts.
- Creates, manages, and refines forecasting methods for TimberPro Products in collaboration with and supported by Buyers and Planners.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
- Minimum requirement five (5) years of Purchasing or Inventory Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must possess analytical/critical thinking skills.
