This position will be on-site based out of our South Central regional manufacturing facility or Service Center located in Mesquite, Texas.

What would you do as our Welding Lead – 2nd Shift?
You’ll be responsible for ensuring quality production, team leadership, and workflow efficiency.
You will also:
- Lead and Train: Coach and develop a skilled welding team to meet production goals.
- Ensure Quality and Accuracy: Oversee welding operations to maintain high standards and customer satisfaction.
- Optimize Workflow: Manage scheduling and resources to ensure on-time delivery.
- Collaborate and Solve Problems: Work with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.
- Safety First: Maintain and enforce strict safety practices to keep our team safe.
- Hands-On Production: Be ready to jump in and assist with welding and production work when needed.
- Schedule: Help to schedule manpower to ensure on time delivery.
- Other projects as needed
- Maintain a safe and harmonious working environment holding self and others accountable to ASSA ABLOY standards.
- Assure compliance with federal, provincial, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience in welding & metal fabrication – You know the ins and outs of shop tools, equipment, and processes.
- Leadership skills – You have experience mentoring, training, and leading teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Problem-solving mindset – You take initiative and find solutions to keep things running smoothly.
- Attention to detail – Quality and precision matter to you.
- Physical capability – Able to lift up to 75 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a hands-on environment.
- Basic computer skills – Comfortable using digital tools for tracking and reporting.
- Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches
- Experience using forklift, hand truck, etc. (certification required – training and testing provided if needed)
- Familiarity in First Aid a plus
