The Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency & Critical Care team in Charleston, SC. Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional nursing care to emergency and critical care patients.
Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and emergency triage.
Collect diagnostic samples including blood, urine, and other laboratory specimens.
Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, phlebotomy, and medication administration.
Monitor patients receiving oxygen therapy, fluid therapy, blood products, and advanced treatments.
Assist veterinarians with emergency procedures, diagnostics, anesthesia, and critical care interventions.
Operate laboratory equipment and perform in-house diagnostic testing.
Accurately calculate medications and treatment dosages.
Maintain detailed medical records and communicate patient updates with the medical team.
Provide compassionate client communication and discharge education.
Collaborate with Emergency, Critical Care, and Specialty teams to ensure exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of Veterinary Technician experience, preferably in emergency or critical care medicine.
LVT certification preferred, but not required.
Strong knowledge of patient restraint, phlebotomy, anesthesia, medical math, laboratory procedures, and emergency nursing skills.
Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient during high-acuity emergency situations.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Passion for delivering exceptional patient care and client service.
Fluent English speaking and reading skills are required for this role. Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
