Special Education Resource/Secondary General Education Teacher

This position will be divided between a special education resource classroom and a secondary general education classroom that aligns with the successful applicant's experience and qualifications.

The successful external (non-FEA) applicant will receive a $2,000 signing bonus following the first 30 days of his/her contract.

Job Summary: Plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. Through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, facilitates development in areas of need such as educational, social/emotional, communication, gross motor, fine motor, and adaptive.

Retirement: State of Alaska TRS
Bargaining Unit: Fairbanks Education Association (FEA)
Salary: Determined by the FEA Negotiated Agreement
Contract Length: Minimum of 184 days

Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):

1. Bachelor's degree
2. Must possess or be eligible for a valid Alaska Initial, Professional, or Master certificate with an endorsement in Special Education and an additional endorsement in a secondary content area
3. Working knowledge of state and federal Special Education laws
4. Meet all state and federal requirements to be qualified in required content area
