Division Controller, Fresh Division

<p>Buyers Edge Platform is seeking a <strong>Division Controller</strong> to support our Fresh Division, which includes a portfolio of brands focused on fresh produce and perishable supply chain solutions. This role will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations and controls, and driving scalable accounting processes across a complex, multi-entity environment.&nbsp;The Controller will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of division accounting and reporting, serving as a mentor to junior staff and a trusted partner to the VP of Finance and division and brand leadership.</p> <p><strong>This position is ideally based in our Bannockburn, IL office (hybrid, 3 days/week). The Fresh Division has a national footprint of over 125+ industry leading distributors in North America, and partnerships with the most premier grower shippers.</p> <p><strong>Your impact:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Management Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Lead and develop a high-performing team.</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally on division and brand initiatives.</li> <li>Serve as a key partner in integrating newly acquired businesses into the division.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Accounting and Reporting:<br> <ul> <li>Oversee the month-end close process — preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis for division/brand accounting.</li> <li>Maintain and improve processes to support accurate and timely completion of monthly close activities and internal controls.</li> <li>Ensure adherence to GAAP and the timely completion of account reconciliations in an audit-ready state.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Process Improvement: <ul> <li>Support division and brand initiatives to improve system and process efficiency and net working capital management.</li> <li>Identify opportunities to enhance policies and procedures, drive automation, and improve reporting accuracy.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Internal Controls &amp; Compl
