About the job
This position is needed to innovate with career developers to build innovative Twilio-powered solutions to solve their business challenges through our Developer Innovations Lab program. The Developer Innovations Lab facilitates customer engagements centered on design thinking to help identify and solve key business challenges by empowering development teams to build prototypes on Twilio.
The person in this role will collaborate internally with a global team of engagement strategists, technical advisors, and event specialists as well as sales teams, product leaders, and developer evangelists to plan, build, and host Developer Innovations Lab engagements. They should be a builder who revels in fast-paced, dynamic environments and is keen to boost customer satisfaction via the delivery of high-quality, innovative projects. Externally, they will be the liaison between these stakeholders and engineering teams at Twilio’s top enterprise customers. They will equip developers to build creative technical solutions on Twilio by hosting hackathon-style events that encourage innovation on channels like SMS, Voice, WhatsApp, Email and more.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Plan, host, and run in-person and virtual customer events for developers at top companies building on Twilio. Oversee all aspects of staffing, event planning, and agenda creation, as well as coordinating team registrations, presenting on Twilio products and customer engagement, while assisting teams as they build prototypes to demo for internal leaders that solve real business problems.
- Navigate cross-functional collaboration and negotiation processes within Twilio to align everyone with the program and each individual engagement’s objectives.
- Work directly with key stakeholders at some of our largest customers. This includes coordinating customer calls, working on-site at customer offices, and acting as the liaison between Twilio and the developer teams on technical projects.
- Ability to drive projects forward independently from inception to completion. This includes outlining key milestones and ensuring they are met within the established deadlines.
- Be responsible for effectively communicating project plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with stakeholders through written content such as blog posts and technical tutorials as well as developer programming that address the more complex problems career developers face.
- Ensure that developers have an exceptional experience building with Twilio as measured by customer feedback.
- Support innovation and enhance the customer experience through a series of meetings and workshops designed to help customers identify and clearly define their business problems.

Required:
- Have written enough Python, PHP, Node, C# (.NET) or Java code to have opinions on the different web frameworks of one specific programming language, or even across multiple programming languages.
- 2+ years experience writing production code for a company. Strong empathy for career developers and how you can guide them to build successfully.
