The North West Regional Hospital are seeking dedicated and suitably experienced Registered Nurses to join their busy Theatre team!

The role:

We are seeking experienced Perioperative Registered Nurses within Pre/ Post op Day Surgery, Scrub Scout, Anaesthetics and Recovery at the North West Regional Hospital. Nurses with at least 6 months of perioperative experience will be highly regarded.

We are looking for passionate nurses who deliver the greatest quality of care and will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. It is expected that within the dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to a strong professional team approach through open communication and a positive supportive environment. 

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will contribute to the health outcomes of your patients through excellence in practice, fostering a learning culture, excellent communication skills and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

The Team:

Set near a picturesque Tasmanian coastline, the North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160-bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive

The NWRH Theatre is a vibrant, supportive team consisting of four operating theatres providing Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT, Endoscopy and Dental services. NWRH Theatre is committed to a positive workplace culture, and excellent clinical care within a supportive environment. Standard working hours are a variety of shifts between the hours of 0700 and 2230 seven days a week, with the ability to offer flexible working arrangements, and on call service overnight.  NWRH Theatres have a dedicated leadership and education team to support all learning and development needs. 

Details of Appointment

Multiple vacancies available, let us know what works for you: 

• Permanent, full time, shift work position, working 76 hours per fortnight
• Fixed term, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join us, until 28 February 2025. 

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

• Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $75,902- $102,908 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
