As the Staff Account you will be responsible for supporting Senior Accountant and Controller relating to financial reporting. Developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation. Will have contact with senior-level executives and Controller which requires interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.


Requirements

  • Works well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Support Senior Accountant to ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
  • Ensure a timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations (BlackLine)
  • Daily banking requirements – daily reconciliations, collaboration with team members to chase outstanding items.
  • Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Credits.
  • Collaborates with other department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist with company tax reporting; Corporate, Sales & Use (TaxConnex), Quarterly Business.
  • Support Senior Accountant and Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One (1) to Three (3) years of accounting/finance experience (internships, accounting volunteering, school projects OK)
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, in accounting
  • Knowledge of General Ledger/Income Statement/Balance Sheet
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications.
  • Proficient in data entry and management.
