Group Financial Controller

We are looking for a Group Financial Controller with a strong focus on system implementation and process development. In this role you will play an instrumental role in building a high-performing, professional finance function to support rapid growth of Hostaway. Ideal candidate has strong experience in accounting as well as implementation of financial systems, processes and workflows in a demanding, fast-paced environment. In this role you will report to the CFO.

This position is a remote position in Finland, candidates with residence in other countries may be considered, however strong Finnish and English language skills, both written and verbal are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Take key role in implementation of new financial systems (especially NetSuite) and act as admin/super user

• Initiate, build and implement financial processes and run day-to-day tasks temporarily where required

• Ownership of the monthly, quarterly and annual closing of accounts

• Support in preparation of consolidated annual financial statements, audit preparations and tax returns

• Manage general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting regulation

• Oversee outsourced accounting for subsidiaries and ensure alignment from group reporting perspective

• Perform analysis on financial processes and workflows to identify opportunities for automation e.g. with system integrations

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to financial systems, including out-of-the-box functionality, system integrations, and customizations

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, regulations and requirements under Finnish GAAP (US GAAP and IFRS beneficial)

• NetSuite implementation experience either as a system consultant or as end-user (experience on SuiteScript and SuiteFlow tools etc. considered a plus)

• Ability and courage to build and implement new processes, tools and policies

• Experience of working with a high volume, multicurrency, multi-country environment is an advantage

• Capacity to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

• Strong Finnish and English language skills, both written and spoken
