What we are looking for…

Markel is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Business Systems Analyst to join its Re-insurance IT development team.  The Senior Business Systems Analyst is a primary interface between technology teams and business partners. They are responsible for understanding current and future processes, and where applicable, including processes for the entire enterprise. They gather and document business needs and requirements, and assist with generating project business cases. They also provide guidance to stakeholders on effective and efficient approaches to achieve desired business outcomes.

What you’ll do…

• Acts as a senior team member to ensure project continues to align with project goals and business cases.
• Develops test scenarios and test cases for use in system and integration testing.
• Contributes to the investigative work and creation of the technical solutions.
• Acts as subject matter expert on technical aspects of solution development and integration, including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.

• Selects appropriate business analysis methods from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
• Collaborates with stakeholders at all levels, in the conduct of investigations for strategy studies, business requirements specifications and feasibility studies.
• Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritization activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity.
• Specifies and develops test scenarios to test that new/updated processes deliver planned efficiencies and business benefits.
• Ensures test results are documented, reported to stakeholders, along with any risks or issues, and are available for specification of user instructions.  

• Function as part of a team responsible for the complete delivery of solutions
