DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker's Baltimore office has experienced substantial growth and is expanding its national bridge practice. To support this growth, we are seeking an Entry level Bridge/Structural Associate who will complete technical work and ensure technical excellence in the Bridge Department. This team member will collaborate with project engineers and senior project managers to deliver high-quality engineering services.

This position will be in office in Baltimore, MD. The chosen candidate is expected to be physically located in the Baltimore, MD area.

The Entry Level Bridge/Structural Engineer (EIT) will have the opportunity to join a dedicated group of individuals to help deliver important projects as follows:

• Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations for all types of bridges and transportation structures
• Develop or assist in developing contract drawings and study reports
• Perform Bridge Inspections and prepare bridge inspection reports
• Perform load rating 
• Collaborate with inter-disciplinary design team (highway, traffic, civil, planning, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with a focus on bridges or structures, from an ABET Accredited University or equivalent
• 1-3 years’ experience designing bridges and transportation structures is preferred
• EIT or ability to acquire within 6 months required
• Strong technical and communication skills with a dedication to quality
• Computer skills desired include Bridge Design Software, Microsoft Office, Computer Aided Drafting (Microstation preferred).
• Basic knowledge of applicable design codes and standards

COMPENSATION

The estimated compensation range for this position is $62,000 to $90,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation depends on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, abilities, and physical work location.
