Alys Beach is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for the accounting team. This is a new position located at Alys Beach to work directly with the Resort and F&B departments. Experience is preferred as well as the ability to work independently, and with a team, in a fast-paced and high volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Job Responsibilities
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation prior to electronic routing for review and approval
- Prioritize and process all invoices to the appropriate profit center and general ledger codes
- Request and track all documentation to process the setup of new vendors in accordance with corporate accounting requirements
- Verify and maintain current liability, workers compensation, and auto insurance certificates for all vendors
- Respond to all vendor invoice inquiries. Reconcile vendor statements and research and correct discrepancies
- Posting and reconciling recurring charges with payables regarding ABNA and CDD monthly billings
- Working on projects assigned by the Accounting Manager including balance sheet reconciliations, p&l reviews
- Assist in accounting month-end closings and other projects as needed including comparing budget to actual expenses
Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience as a primary focus
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
Essential Job Functions
- Basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking on a daily basis
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable and general ledger accounting systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate accounting processes
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- May require sitting for long periods of time in an office environment
Preferred Skills
- Resorts and F&B accounts payable experience preferred
- Experience with, or proficiency in, SAP, Jonas, Maintenance Connect, Track softwares a plus
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office
