Job Description
The Assistant Manager, Technical Services (Shows & Events) is responsible for developing and implementing strategic and daily operational plans for all Shows Technology, Special Events, Live Entertainment Technology Parkwide Systems and Park A/V for the Tech Services Shows and Events department. The Assistant Manager provides technical guidance and management of the Union crews for an attraction or all attractions under his or her area of responsibility. Responsible for the technical support of all Shows and Events systems, to include Audio, Projection, Lighting, Set/Scenic, Props, Show Action Equipment, Animated Figures, Special Effects and Show Control Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all department members understand and follow all company policies and procedures.
- Must become proficient in multiple accounting and data systems used in the financial tracking of time and budgets.
- Coordinates and assigns technicians to set-up, install, repair, and maintain all equipment
- Manages technical aspects of Show Venue operations.
- Maintains a documentation system for all attractions including daily reports of all work performed.
- Ensures all Shows & Events equipment is inspected, tested by the Technical staff and is operational each day prior to the Park opening.
- Provides technical guidance and mentoring as required for the Shows & Events Technicians.
- Builds strong team cohesion and motivation within the Technical Services Team.
- Oversees all technical interaction with Attraction Responsible Engineers, Vendors, Sub-contractors, and other relevant 3rd parties involved with Shows and Event systems.
- Develops an open working relationship with the Specialty & General Contractors to ensure a clear line of communication regarding installation, test, and adjust activities.
- Ensures that the Shows department delivers a quality product to our customer each day.
- Supports and advises the Shows & Events Manager(s) in all aspects of the Shows and Events scope of work.
- Ensures that collective bargaining agreements are upheld by partnering with HR and Labor Relations to maintain positive union relationships.
- Develops and implements action plans for the department’s future success including training programs, workforce planning, and rewards and recognition program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 1-3 years of technical expertise in live entertainment show systems including Special Effects Mechanical, Electrical, Lighting, Audio and video systems.
- 1-3 years of day-to-day technical operation
