Corporate Compliance Officer

Labcorp is searching for a Corporate Compliance Officer to support its health systems, national accounts, and payor solutions business teams as a member of the Corporate Compliance Department, which recently earned Compliance Leader Verification recognition from Ethisphere. The position will serve as the lead compliance business partner supporting Labcorp Diagnostics business initiatives with large national health systems and physician organizations, value-based care entities, group purchasing organizations, managed care plans, and similar healthcare entities. The Corporate Compliance Officer will be tasked with managing Labcorp’s compliance program within the assigned business areas, and providing proactive compliance solutions and support to advance Labcorp’s mission of improving health and improving lives in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and high ethical standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build collaborative relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to management, operations, and sales/commercial personnel at all levels within the assigned business areas by providing day-to-day and strategic compliance support on a broad range of diagnostics arrangements.
- Lead the compliance program within the assigned business areas and engage actively with senior leaders within the Corporate Compliance Department on all compliance-related matters, ensuring appropriate communication and reporting on the operation and progress of various compliance program projects and initiatives.
- Respond to, investigate, and appropriately resolve potential compliance program violations and other allegations of misconduct, including those arising from governmental inquiries, internal and third-party audits, and/or compliance action line reports.
- Implement and follow up on compliance training programs for new and existing employees to ensure a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and Labcorp compliance policies.
- Monitor state and federal laws and regulations that apply to Labcorp’s business operations, particularly those laws and regulations impacting operations in the assigned business areas.
- Drive the effectiveness of internal compliance program audits and monitoring activities in the assigned business areas and implement corrective actions in response to findings, as appropriate.
- Lead compliance-related due diligence and integration activities for acquisitions within the assigned business areas.
- Work with other departments, including but not limited to Revenue Cycle Management, Law, and Quality, to advance cross-functional initiatives in support of diagnostics business objectives within the assigned business areas.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a healthcare compliance or clinical laboratory operations role.
- Experience and expertise with implementing a corporate compliance program, including drafting and implementing policies and procedures, training, auditing, monitoring, and conducting investigations.
- Strong business acumen and experience working with large and complex healthcare delivery system models, including hospitals and health systems, value-based care entities, and managed care entities.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, billing policies, and other industry practices that affect healthcare providers and clinical laboratories.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to express complex information to business leaders in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience with data analytics.
- Capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrable experience taking ownership of issues and providing practical advice.
- Ability to prioritize and undertake mission critical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with excellent judgment and high integrity.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) is preferred.
