About the role

Description

The Project Manager for construction is responsible for the effective planning, smooth operation, and management of the Construction Departments of Piscataqua Landscaping and Tree Service, Inc. (Herein after referred to as “PLTS”) so as to ensure, on a continuing basis, the realization of maximum quality, profitability, improvement, and growth.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent leadership and clear direction to crews so they understand the scope, efficiencies, time frames, tools, and paperwork of ongoing projects.
  • Receive and review construction project estimates and information from Sales team.
  • Organize, implement and facilitate the successful and accurate completion of projects with construction crews.
  • Work with sales/estimators/purchasing to ensure outcome of project(s) is understood and materials needed are available.
  • Review scope of work with client to ensure expectations align with job proposal.
  • Communicate with client on necessary changes, extras, up sells, enhancements or any client concerns.
  • Set weekly crew schedules in software and update crew schedule board daily.
  • Manage and coordinate all small equipment purchases for the division.
  • Research and propose new equipment purchases.
  • Order and tag and schedule materials and deliveries to the jobsites
  • Work efficiently within the software program.


Additional Duties

  • Participate in snow removal operations during the winter season.
  • Review construction crews work sheets daily.
  • Review and facilitate job costing on a daily basis
  • Communicate and enforce company policies to crew.
  • Attend office meetings, trainings, and administer monthly tailgate talks.
  • Other additional duties as assigned by business need.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four year College or university and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to communicate effectively to common inquiries or complaints from customers or business members of the community.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
